Thomas currently coordinates research partnerships and publications at the global secretariat of the ICCA Consortium, a member-based organization that advocates for the recognition and support of ICCAs-territories of life.
From 2016 to 2019, he did his PhD research in social anthropology with the University of Bern and the Autonomous Territorial Government of the Wampis Nation, about indigenous autonomy in the Peruvian Amazon.
